Florida Keys WeddingsSand Ceremony:
The Sand Ceremony is a relationship pledge between two people and the new family relationship is symbolized through the pouring of two individual containers of sand into a larger container. It takes the place of the unity candle. Each side container holds sand of a different color, and while the officiant conducts the ceremony, the bride and groom take turns pouring the sand into the larger container. This forms a sand art inside the larger container, which is then corked and taken home as a keepsake of their wedding day.
